Hello, again.
LAST NIGHT’S WORKOUT
Before I get into specifics, I would just like to apologize to the gym.
Gym, I’m sorry for completely neglecting you from Friday – Monday in favor of Christmas Tree Brownies and other holiday treats. It’s great to be friends again.
Last night’s classes were fun. Sometimes it’s nice to have a few days off because once I’m back into the swing of things, I feel really into it and get a great workout. And get extra enthusiastic and funny weird when teaching. Kix with Theresa was great, and then I taught my Circuit Training class. Here’s my workout if you want to give it a go on your own!
WARMUP
CIRCUIT #1
CIRCUIT #2
CIRCUIT #3
CIRCUIT #4
This was a pretty funny circuit. My “awk move of the night” was definitely the runner + high knee jump combo. Aka “the awk gallop.” Go ahead, try it. Do a fast football run for 4 counts, then do just 1 high knee to “gallop” and turn your body to face the left. Then four counts of runners and gallop back to the front, to the right, and so on. It’s really silly, but – we were all out of breath by the end!! And it got everyone laughing.
CIRCUIT #5
We were so out of breath by the time Circuit #5 came around that I skipped the cardio and just finished with a few last moves on the floor.
Note to self: Next time, face the OTHER direction during the inner thigh exercises. Your class does not want to spread their legs to every guy that comes out of the weight room for a drink.
COOLDOWN
PLAYLIST
The techno version of “Rock the Casbah” (my all time favorite song), a zumba like song, and a jam from Scooby Doo?! Where can you go wrong?
P.S. I think that Rob Thomas song on here is REALLY underrated.
BREAKFAST
This morning I really wanted to eat this for breakfast:
But instead I ate this:
Wasn’t my breakfast actually really pretty? Quaker Oats with sliced bananas, strawberries, cinnamon, and a big scoop of almond butter. With peppermint tea! In my awesome new snowman mug of course. I like that he’s holding his belly.
I think I made the right breakfast decision. Even though this giant peanut butter cup has taunted me since I pulled it out of my Christmas stocking.
Anything been tempting you since you got it for Christmas? What are your favorite “awkward exercise moves?” Any new songs you have for me to put on my workout playlists?
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s “Three Appetizer Thursday” post!
