Whew! What a busy week it’s been in my neck of the woods. All good things, of course, between the blogger fitness class with Sebastien Lagree on Monday, Two A Day Tuesday, Jillian Michaels on Wednesday, and finally catching up with my roommates last night… but I’m exhausted! I am looking forward to a nice [Greek] Easter weekend and rejuvenating over the next couple of days.
For now, just wanted to share some of my favorite links from the week. Enjoy!
Noms…
— Cinco do Mayo is Sunday. If you need a recipe in honor of the holiday, here are 31 of them.
— Mango cilantro guacamole? YES PLEASE. That’s practically all of my favorite flavors combined into one yummy snack. Although, that could be dangerous for me if I had too many salty chips…
— New ways to enjoy popcorn! My go to is to sprinkle with rosemary and parmesan cheese, and toss with a teeny bit of olive oil. Maybe I’ll try to switch things up now.
— Are you guys smoothie drinkers? In the winter I’m not really a huge smoothie fan, but in the summer I am a smoothie machine! I can’t wait for it to be smoothie season again, especially now that I have an immersion blender. I stumbled upon this tropical chia smoothie recipe last week, and I can’t wait to try it!
— Another recipe that uses feta. Ok, twist my arm. This actually caught my eye because it looks like the dish my friend Alicia brought to Erin’s PCDC get together last month.
Move it…
— This one is from one of my new favorite blogs, and I am so happy Lauren sent this link my way. Instead of training for fat loss, dieting, blah blah blah… read why you should simply train to be awesome. Every one of you should follow Nia Shanks please!
— Moves that incorporate a towel. Love.
— Greatist really has the best lists and infographics in their posts. This week, I loved their Tabata moves and interval training info.
— How much water should you drink before, during, and after your workout? Find out here. I try to drink enough water, but I probably could be better at this!
— You guys know that I have participated in a few different rounds of Tina’s Best Body Bootcamp program. For the next series, she is giving it a facelift and adding a ton of cool new features. If you are interested in joining, check out what’s new in this post!
And a few extra…
–Sometimes I think my friend Monique and I are the same person. Loved her post today about hitting a wall and doing too much. Loved it probably because I’ve been through it and the feelings all resonate with me.
—25 habits of amazing fitness instructors <— how many do you agree with!? I agree with most! #4 is a bit dicey because not everyone is comfortable being touched by the instructor for corrections. #7 is a no go in our music selections at the Y nevermind coming out of our mouths, although I think in a certain environment, cursing is ok in small funny bits. And I definitely need to be better about remembering people’s names! I am terrible at that.
–For my fellow grammar nerds, check out these 8 punctuation marks that we should probably start using. Immediately.
Any comments on the links I’ve shared? Feel free to link up to any interesting internet favorites you’ve stumbled upon this week.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Train to be awesome… LOVE that. Also, loved the 25 tips/signs… I’ve gotten much better with names: tip- when you meet someone, write their name in your phone (I have an ongoing note for class members names) with a clue about who they are “Sarah- curly hair @Central Sq”- it helps so much!
Thanks for the shout out- knew you’d relate to that post!
I love smoothies yr round esp now that I have my travel blender! I always crave them after teaching a class at the gym 🙂
Love the grammar one!
