A few months ago, the folks at Tuttorosso Tomatoes contacted me to see if I would be interested in receiving a sample kit of some of their products. After reading up on the company, I learned that Tuttorosso is owned by Red Gold, a fourth generation family of tomato experts that boasts they produce the freshest, best tasting, tomato products in the world. Sounded good to me!
After my “of course” reply, the following Tuttorosso products arrived at my doorstep a few weeks later:
28 ounce cans of crushed tomatoes with basil, peeled plum shaped tomatoes in tomato juice, and tomato sauce. For nutritional information on each of these products, click the links for each. You can also read about more on Tuttorosso as part of a healthy diet here.
Along with these products, I also received a few fun little “extras.”
A koozie, a potholder, some recipe cards, and my favorite – a cooking conversion magnet. I am terrible at converting cups and ounces and pounds, etc. so I was psyched to stick this on my fridge right away. I haven’t tried any of the recipes they provided yet, but I did use up these products in recipes such as the salsas we made for the Super Bowl and the zucchini lasagna recipe I posted about on Sunday.
Tuttorosso has also kindly offered to give away the same sample kit with all the items above to one Fitness & Feta reader.
To enter this giveaway you must leave a comment telling me one of three things, or answer all three questions if you wish!
- What is your favorite type of tomato? On the vine? Cherry? Grape? Plum? Crushed?
- What is your favorite way to cook with tomatoes? In a sauce? On a salad? In a soup?
- Do you think a tomato is a vegetable or a fruit? (kidding).
For an extra entry you can post on Facebook or tweet the following: “Win a @RedGoldTomatoes sample kit from @FitnessandFeta today! Click here for more details: http://wp.me/p1GYjo-2gM.” Just make sure to leave me a second comment telling me you did so.

I’ll answer Question #2: What is your favorite way to cook with tomatoes? In a sauce? On a salad? In a soup?
Hands-down, In a sauce! I love homemade tomato sauce!
I love vine ripe tomatoes for salad, but my favorite way to cook with tomatoes is in a sauce! Also great in moussaka, one of my favorite Greek dishes.
Posted on facebook, too. Twitter, not so sure, lol.
Crushed tomatoes are good in chili. Thanks!
Cherry tomatoes are my fave! 🙂
My favorite kind of tomato is on the vine, preferably on my garden vine (and before the woodchuck gets it!). I like tomatoes in salads, soups and sauce – as long as it tastes good. I also posted comment and link on Facebook!
cherry tomatoes are my favorite. I like plum tomatoes too. I use tomatoes mostly in my sauces for all the curries I make and I try to make my own pasta sauce.
I have just tweeted the giveaway
I love putting roasted vine tomatoes in sauces and soups. Tomatoes roasted with a little olive oil and garlic add incredible flavor to any dish.
Cherry tomatoes are by far my favorite! They are sweet, delish, and a great addition to all kinds of salad. If only I could get my boyfriend to like them too…
I like crushed tomatos in soup!
I added the link to my facebook page.
I like grape tomatoes in a salad! Yum!
I Love grape tomatoes best.
In the summer, I wash & eat.
In the winter/fall I eat them in soups all the time!
