When it comes to nutrition, my clients and I love to #GoPRO – we think about how to incorporate PROtein and PROduce (aka FIBER)  into our diets on a regular basis! On game day, this can be tough. After all, one of the best parts of the Super Bowl experience is the food.

I know that I don’t want to have to stick to a boring veggie platter all night, but I don’t want to feel uncomfortably full either – that always leaves me feeling frustrated with myself the next day.

Read on for six ways to #GoPRO on Game Day!

One of the best parts of the Super Bowl experience is the food!

1. CHILI

Definitely high protein and high fiber! Use your favorite ground meat + beans, load up your veg. You could even make a fun chili bar with toppings like shredded cheese, avocado, crushed tortilla chips, etc.

2. TACOS

Could do traditional 🌮 or taco bowls 🥙. Prep some taco meat, then set up bowls for ingredients like shredded lettuce, diced tomato, other veggies, black beans, rice, shredded cheese, salsa, etc.

3. NACHOS

Make ‘em more fun than just chips. You can top with a protein like shredded chicken and add veggies too.

4. MEATBALLS

Easy finger food or crock pot option. Serve them with some spinach for an extra green!

5. STUFFED PEPPERS OR MUSHROOMS

Stuffed mushrooms make for another good finger food, and depending on the size of your peppers they could be a main or an app. Stuff with protein, more veggies, and a carb like quinoa or rice!

6. VEGGIE FRIES

Look, nothing wrong with that plate of celery if you enjoy it, especially with a good dip! But I think serving things like buffalo cauliflower bites or baked sweet potato or zucchini fries is fun.

Remember: food is meant to be ENJOYED, not something to stress about. Food is also MORE than “just fuel.” It IS at the center at a lot of experiences, it just shouldn’t be the ONLY part of your experiences.

You can eat in ways that align with your goals without going overboard or stuffing yourself silly AND without restricting yourself either.

Let me know if you try any of these food ideas, and comment with what your favorite game day #GoPROeats are. I’d love to know!
