I hope you all had a wonderful holiday.

I’ve spent the past four days cooking and baking up a storm.  I have 7 new recipes to share, but those are for another time.

Ok, maybe just a little sneak preview?

  • Christmas Tree Brownies
  • Cranberry Walnut Bread
  • Peppermint Bark
  • Cranberry Avocado Salsa
  • Tomato, Basil, and Mozzarella Skewers
  • Mini Red Velvet Santa Hat Cupcakes
  • Cinnamon Apple Brie
  • Apple Cinnamon Protein Pancakes

I also made my butternut squash with sage and goat cheese, but I’ve posted that one before.  Stay tuned for the rest of the recipe posts later this week!

So what have I been up to besides cooking and baking?  Friday night Shannon threw her  annual Christmas party for the home gang.  This was our twelfth annual party, can you believe that?  Like I mentioned in my holiday survey, Shannon’s party is one of my favorite Christmas traditions.  It’s one of the few times that everyone gets together again, we have a huge Yankee swap that involves lots of yelling and a Chia pet that resurfaces every year, and Shannon always has the best display of food and drinks for everyone.  This year she made an unreal martini, let’s just leave it at that.  I love this night!

Christmas Eve was spent at Tim’s cousin’s house, Christmas morning the two of us spent together (it was the first year I didn’t sleep at home on Christmas Eve), and after making a fun breakfast we headed to my parents for the rest of the day.  I made out like a bandit with several bottles of wine, new lulu lemon gear, and my heart rate monitor/calorie counting watch.  Plus a ton of other cool stuff (pumpkin flavor, anyone?) and sweet stocking stuffers.  I was pumped that Uncle Jimmy made avgolemeno soup for Christmas dinner!  First time in years.  So delicious.  And my goddaughter, as usual, was adorable and running around like crazy.

And today I’m off to New Bedford for the last day of celebrating with my dad’s side of the fam.

Whew!

Back with more Christmas updates later this week.
