Happy day after the first day of fall!

Every year I am bittersweet when summer ends and fall begins.  I love, love, love summer and everything about the sunnier days, the beach, flip-flops, sundresses, and more.  But I love fall too and everything about it — pumpkins, apple picking, cider, foliage, the funnest recipes/flavors, and not feeling guilty for having more lazy days.  In the summer I tend to feel like I am “wasting the day” if I don’t take advantage of the sun for every waking moment it is out.

It’s a toss-up over which is actually my favorite season.

Either way, yesterday marked the first day of fall and I’m saying HOORAY!

Here are just some of the things I’m looking forward to this season:

  • Pumpkin coffee
  • And more pumpkin flavored things, apple flavors, maple flavors, butternut squash, and more
  • Trying new fall recipes
  • Making a fall craft
  • Apple picking
  • Shipyard Pumpkin Ale
  • Farmers markets
  • Apple cider
  • Apple cider donuts
  • The crisp air
  • Pumpkin carving
  • Fall themed dinners with friends
  • Fairs & festivals
  • Nature walk or hike

Normally I would make a “Fall Bucket List,” but I went back and read the Summer Bucket List I posted back in June and I only did 6 out of the 25 things I listed on there.  If you guys read Friday’s post, you know that I did a lot of fun things this summer, but 6 out of 25 makes me feel somewhat un-accomplished?!  So instead, I’ll leave it at my list above with things I’m looking forward to instead, that way I’ll be less likely to feel bad about myself if I don’t do them.  I’m trying really hard to be less “to do-ish” and more go with the flow and “just be-ish,” so maybe not making a giant list of EVERYTHING I want to do will help me meet this goal.

What’s your favorite season?  Which do you prefer, summer or fall?  What are you looking forward to in the next couple of months?
