Hello!  Time to share my Foodie Penpal reveal.  Here are the goodies that Laura sent my way last month:

Sidenote:  Can anyone spot a Tim in the background?

  • Mississippi Mud Brownie Mix from Ala Carte Alice, a shop that offers “gourmet gifts for all occasions.”  Can’t wait to bake up a batch!  Chocolate with marshmallows, pecans, and chocolate chips?  Yum.
  • Delta Bred Cheese Straws.  In her note, Laura said these are a staple at all her get-togethers.  Tim wanted to open them last week, but I said not until I take a picture.  I suspect we’ll break into these this week for sure!
  • Captain Rodney’s Sweet & Spicy Pepper Glaze.  I’m excited because I am slowly learning to like spicy foods.  Besides Tim sneaking crushed red pepper flakes into our meals, I really have tried to be better about the amount of spice I can handle.  Last week in Atlanta I ordered some chili for lunch along with my turkey sandwich one day, and I could handle the kick!  Hopefully I’ll be able to handle this glaze too.  🙂

Are you interested in joining Foodie Penpals next month?  Here are some more details:

Foodie Penpal

–> On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email from Lindsay at The Lean Green Bean.  It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.

–> You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail.

–> On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!

–> The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items, or even homemade treats!  The spending limit is $15.  The box must also include something written.  This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe… use your imagination!

–> You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)

–> Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers.  If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received.  If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.

–> Foodie Penpals is open to US, Canadian residents & UK residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only.

If this sounds fun to you, just CLICK HERE and fill out the form to participate!  Remember anyone can participate whether you are a blogger or not, which is one of my favorite parts of this program.

Thank you, Laura, for my fun treats this month!
