My foodie penpal definitely spoiled me last month.
Kristin, the blogger behind Clean Cupcake Crusade, sent me a super cute package from Michigan. I knew I would love it when the first sentence of her letter was that she is a “theme kind of girl.” Perfect, because I am too! In fact, I just gave my friend Ashley an entire pie/custard themed gift at her bridal shower yesterday. Kristin put together a Michigan themed package to give me a glimpse into her home state, and she took the time to explain why she included each item.
Here’s a pic of all my goodies:
First of all, how cute is the F cookie cutter for Fitness & Feta? And I can never have enough baking cups. I downed the seltzer almost immediately because I ran out of CO2 for my seltzer maker at home. I enjoyed the apple for a pre-workout snack. My favorite so far though is the homemade peanut butter. It’s seriously delicious (recipe?!) and I love that Kristin sent it because I told her I’ve received an endless supply of jams/jellies in past foodie penpal months. I haven’t tried the other items yet, but they’re in the cabinet just waiting for me. That asparagus guac is especially calling my name.
For those interested in what foodie penpals is all about, read on and sign up!
–> On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email from Lindsay at The Lean Green Bean. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
–> You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail.
–> On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
–> The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items, or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe… use your imagination!
–> You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
–> Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
–> Foodie Penpals is open to US, Canadian residents & UK residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only.
If this sounds fun to you, just CLICK HERE and fill out the form to participate! Remember anyone can participate whether you are a blogger or not, which is one of my favorite parts of this program.
Thank you, Kristin, for my fun treats!

Thanks for this great blog I LOVE IT. I am a new fitness instructor. So I get some great ideas from your blog (I have a love relationship with the deck of cards workout 🙂 ) I started a class called Buggy Babies and Beyond. And I just signed up for the foodie penpal. Its a great idea. Thanks again for your blog.

Hi Tricia, you’re so welcome! Thank you for reading 🙂
I also have a love / hate with Deck of Cards… it hurts so good. Good luck in all your fitness instructor endeavors!
