Monday Motivation

Can you believe that it’s November already? With November usually comes colder weather, leftover Halloween candy, and starting to plan for the holiday season. As a fitness professional, I often see several people give up on their healthy living goals because New Year’s is “right around the corner.” Tis’ the season to become lax about eating nutritiously, making time for workouts, and appropriately managing stress levels. Well, my advice to you is to not give up. Use November as a way to go into that holiday season strong and feeling great about yourselves. Why not hit it hard this month? Think about it. What will you do differently to keep yourself motivated and on track?

And finally.

Friday
I really wanted to work out on Friday. But I didn’t. I didn’t wake up before work because I was tired after hosting Halloween dinner on Thursday night. I didn’t work out at lunch because I procrastinated doing something that was due by the end of the day. I really was planning on going after work, but I hit a ton of traffic after picking up my bridesmaid dress at David’s Bridal, and I just completely lost motivation. It was just one of those days I had to give myself a pep talk that one missed day wouldn’t be that big of a deal. I was bummed though because last week I only did four workouts and this week I only did four workouts, and I really am the happiest and feel at my best when I do five (six on a really good week).

Saturday
I went back to FitHouse to take a cycle class! Just like I loved my first experience there, I loved the cycle class as well. The cycle room was fun with a lot of bikes, the music was great, and the instructor taught to the beat (my favorite way to take/teach spin).

Cycle at FitHouse

By the end of class, I was drenched. If you guys haven’t already entered my giveaway for FitHouse, you have until Wednesday to enter. There aren’t a ton of entries yet, so you have a pretty good chance at winning… just saying.

This Week’s Workouts
Here’s my plan for this week:

  • Sunday: Off
  • Monday: Total body strength and cardio day
  • Tuesday: Two A Day. I’m taking kickboxing and then teaching my class. I will likely teach more than I do based on my Monday/Wednesday workouts this week.
  • Wednesday: Trying a class at Barry’s Bootcamp at 6:30pm, thank you New Balance!
  • Thursday: Teaching my 6am class. Whether I do the workout with everyone is TBD based on how badly Barry’s Bootcamp kicks my butt on Wednesday.
  • Friday: Maybe Studio Empower?
  • Saturday: I want to get an awesome workout in on Saturday morning since I actually have a free weekend. Any suggestions? Any workout friends want to try a class somewhere?

That’s it for today. Hope your week is off to a great start!
