Anndddd Boston Mania 2012 is over.  I’m so sad!  I had such a great three days getting my butt kicked, learning new things, trying classes I’ve never taken before, meeting new people, and just being in my happy place.  This probably sounds so cheesy, but I just felt like I belonged there.  Being among so many other personal trainers, fitness instructors, and studio leaders is an incredible feeling because we all have the same passion.  We all love to help other people reach their goals, we get inspired by inspiring others, we love to motivate, and we all constantly want to be bettering ourselves.

How can you possibly ever feel stressed or unhappy when surrounded by so many people with such positive energy and enthusiasm for life?  I think it’s true that people either inspire you or they drain you.  And I am really feeling compelled to start thinking more about how I spend some of my time, and more importantly WHO I spend my time with.

Anyways, I always leave these types of events with 32942803 ideas and dreams and lists of things I want to do and accomplish.  This time is no different, and my head is seriously spinning.

I took workshops with Mindy Mylrea (I want to be her).  I heard so many success stories from people who just had an idea, ran with them, and are now so successful.  Like the founder of Dynamax Medicine Balls, or motivational health & wellness figure Julie Wilkes, or the creator of Horizontal Conditioning and author of the book Fuel + Fitness.  I attended leadership classes to learn more about member retention and how to create more effective schedules, and I witnessed people GLOWING as they introduced themselves as the ones in the room about to open their own cycling studios.

I’m sure all these people were scared at one point to run with all the things they are doing now.  But you know what?

They did them.

Again, my mind is all over the place, so that’s about all I can muster up for today.

What kind of people do you love to be around?  Who inspires you?  What’s YOUR happy place?

I have lots of recap posts of some of the workshops I took coming your way, and my Weekly Workouts post coming later.  Have a great day, everyone!
