Last month I was invited to attend a Neal’s Yard Remedies (NYR) party.  Normally these types of things don’t excite me much, but this one was different because my friend Cristin was hosting the party and my other friend Daniella was the NYR consultant representing the company at the party!

Of course I was an RSVP yes.

The day of the party, I decided to read a little more about NYR online and discovered that all their products are organic!  I immediately got excited for a new spin to healthy related blog entries on F&F, that living healthily can include using organic products that benefit mind, body, and well-being.  I learned that Neal’s Yard Remedies began in London, driven by the idea and passion that health and beauty should be more natural and less synthetic.  Their products are made from wild, organic, and natural ingredients and the company avoids using polluting, toxic, or harmful substances.  NYR encourages a more natural, holistic way of health, beauty, and well-being; and is actually now one of the top organic skincare companies in the UK, Japan and Dubai, with direct selling channels in the UK and US!

I couldn’t wait to try out some of the products.

When I arrived at Cristin’s apartment, she had lots of yummy snacks on display for us to munch on.

Cristin had a little bowl of honey out too and told me I just HAD to try a cheese and cracker combo with a dab of honey drizzled on top.  After giving her a skeptical look, I tried it, and what do you know.  Really good!

There was also a big fruit salad and a plate of cookies:

Daniella did a fantastic job leading the party, educating us on the NYR products, and explaining the purpose of each item:

By the end we were all busy deciding what to order!

I left with orders placed for two exercise related items, obvviiiiously.  One was for The Arnica Salve, which is a stimulating salve to massage into muscles both before and after exercise.  The second was a Lavender & Tea Tree Soap which is an organic lavender essential oil ideal for using after sport & activity.  I also decided to order the Beauty Sleep Concentrate, which is one of the new sleep products that optimizes the skin’s night-time recovery, helps reduce the signs of premature aging, and lets you wake up to skin that looks and feels beautifully revitalized, soft, and supple.  I figured since I really stink at getting enough sleep, this might help me look more awake in the morning.  I have used it for a couple of weeks now, and while I can’t say I look any less tired, my skin definitely feels a lot softer!  I also got a few stocking stuffer gifts as extra Christmas presents:  Geranium and Orange Hand Wash for my mom, and a travel size hand cream for Allison.  Perfect.
