Hello! Today’s blog post is coming at you much later than I normally post, but that’s okay. I just wanted to pop in with a quick look at what happened over the weekend before we get too far into the week.
Friday
Hot yoga hit us hard! I am really going to miss the 4:15pm Friday class at Inner Strength when I take over 5pm spin permanently in Oak Square beginning in December.
Erica was in town! I cleaned up nicely to head into the city with Tim and our Friday night visitor for some cucumber coolys at Gather.
Bridget and Dave joined us for dinner. We ordered bite sized chicken and waffles and roasted duck tacos for the table. Both were good.
I ordered grilled red snapper with mushrooms, kale, lemongrass broth, and beet top salad for my meal, and it was just okay. I’m not sure what about it was off, but the last time I went to Gather my meal was much tastier.
We ordered bread pudding for the table for dessert. Yummy!
After dinner, we ventured over to Committee for after dinner drinks, and Ashley and Chris met up with us too. So fun!
Saturday
Tim made poached eggs over toast for Erica and me when we woke up. Erica had to head out to her friend Kelly’s bridal shower pretty early, and Tim and I enjoyed some lazy Saturday morning time that consisted of coffee, lounging, and gym skipping.
We eventually got our act together to run some errands. First up was Pottery Barn for a couple of returns (hashtag married). We also bought a new a blue platter, a beverage dispense and stand, and a gravy boat. After Pottery Barn, we stopped at Sweetgreen for some salad bowls. I ordered my go to hummus tahini. My picture of lunch didn’t save before I snapchatted all over it. Would have been a good pic too! Oh well. Moral of the story is that you should follow me @fitnessandfeta on Snapchat.
After lunch, we made a quick stop at Watertown Main Street Florist to visit my friend Jen and pick up flowers for Friendsgiving on Sunday.
And then our last stops for Saturday errands were at Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods for some grocery shopping.
Once we finally got back home, we opened the bottle of red zin that my friend Ashley bought me during my bachelorette party. We enjoyed a glass while prepping a couple of the dishes for Sunday.
Our Saturday night dinner at home was a simple F&F favorite: Swiss chard and white bean gnocchi. We enjoyed this while catching up on the Black List, then it was pretty early to bed!
Sunday
We were up and at ’em to squeeze in a morning lifting session since we skipped out on Saturday. I did the last workout in Phase 1 of the Superheroine Fitness training program I’m following.
The rest of our morning and early afternoon was spent doing last minute preparations for Friendsgiving before everyone came over. Let me just say that setting a dinner table with all our new place settings and real dinnerware that all MATCHES is quite possibly the most thrilling thing of all time.
I will be sharing our menu and food details in another post for you guys for some Thanksgiving inspiration, so you’ll only get a couple of photos right now. I’ll just leave it by saying Friendsgiving has become one of my favorite holiday traditions. I’m so, so grateful for these ladies in my life!
And I’m also grateful that our men are somehow all BFFs.
Was such a fun weekend!
Readers, let’s chat! What happened over your weekends? What was the best part?
Off to bed… spin in the morning!
Gather is so hit or miss and the last two times I went – the service was terrible! They do have fun cocktails though 🙂
Yes, I am obsessed with the cucumber cooly there! Service was pretty good this time, but a few of us didn’t really like our food very much. I guess it just depends!
We are doing Friendsgiving on Saturday and I am SO excited! I haven’t heard of Gather, but it looks cool- I’ll have to check it out! And congrats on taking over Friday night spin- I’ll have to come on a day I’m WFH and can make it there for 5pm!
Thanks! I’m excited to get more spin experience than just subbing every now and then. The 5-6pm time won’t interfere with Friday night social life plans either.. which let’s be honest, are pretty non-existent these days!
Jealous of your table settings! We need a matching set (AND WINE GLASSES!!!) like whoa
I am obsessed with the table settings! Crate and Barrel!
