Sunday was a beautiful day.  Tim and I ventured up to Rockport, MA to spend the day by the ocean.  We poked around the downtown shops, walked through the Halibut Point State Park, enjoyed a picnic lunch overlooking the quarry, got a lot of sun (a little too much), and finished up with a drink and some oysters at 7th Wave Restaurant.  Everything was just so pretty that I couldn’t help but snap all these pictures.  I must say, I’m pretty lucky to have a boyfriend who plans days like this for me, even down to the picnic lunch.  He even made the picnic lunch!  On the menu?  Chicken sandwiches with sliced apples and brie on fancy bread, a homemade multi-grain pasta salad, and homemade strawberry lemonade.  Tim and I try our best to alternate planning a date night for each other each month, but I’ll take a date day like this over a date night anytime.  It was the perfect start to the summer.

What is your ideal summer day?  Have you ever been to Rockport?

I grew up going to the beaches of Rockport and Gloucester with my family almost every summer weekend, but I hadn’t explored the state park until this weekend!
