Oh, Friday, how I love you.
Although I must say Fridays certainly are NOT what they used to be for me. I would say more often than not, Friday nights are my rest night now. I pretty much beeline home from work and change into sweatpants because I am in “sweatpants purgatory.” Then I either a) park myself on the couch for the rest of the night, or b) Tim and I cook something fun and get yummy beers or a bottle of wine.
And then park ourselves on the couch for the rest of the night.
Am I old and boring!?!
Anyways, this week has felt especially long to me, despite the “short” workweek I had with having Columbus Day off on Monday. That being said, I had way more posts and exciting things (giveaways!) planned for this week that just kind of fell to the wayside. The Oak Scare road race and health fair that I’m part of the planning committee for at the Y has been pretty all-encompassing for my spare time this week.
To make it up to you, I put together a 30 minute “Butts & Guts” workout for you to try at some point. And not just ANY workout, a SPOOKY workout. Okay I’m just a huge loser, but PicMonkey just added some fun new Halloween pictures to their picture editing features and I just wanted to use them. I really did create (and do) this workout on Monday night, and let me tell you my lower body and abs, especially my obliques, really were yelling at me for 2-3 days afterwards.
If you do try this workout, please make sure to adjust the number of reps and/or times to your own fitness level. Also if you have any questions about what any of these moves actually are or how to properly execute them, feel free to ask me. I’m happy to help.
Anyone else feel like it was a long week this week? If you don’t try this workout, do you have any other fitness plans this weekend?
I’m off to do a light cardio workout at the gym (forcing myself there before I beeline to the couch!), and I’m hoping to make it to a class tomorrow morning as well. Have a great weekend, everyone!
