Morning.  I’m still feeling sleepy today, which isn’t good because my to do list is ginormous.  I’m busting out this blog post, then it’s time to BE PRODUCTIVE.

Tuesday Night Workout

Last night was Two A Day so I took Liz’s Kickboxing, then taught my Circuit class.  We did a ton of different things in Circuit last night, but it only takes an hour!

The Let’s Do Lots of Stuff Workout

First, a warmup.

Duh.

Second, a squat challenge.

By squat challenge I mean we squatted for three and a half minutes straight.

The other day I posted this funny little picture:

It inspired me to download The Pussycat Doll’s song, “Don’t Cha Wish Your Girlfriend Was Hot Like Me” and squat to the entire thing.  We did regular squats, squat pulses, single leg squats on each leg, squat jumps, and back to regular squats by the song was done.  Not sure anyone found this as amusing as I did.  Oh well.  We loosened up after with this little cardio series:  slide jumps with alternating punches, jog in place with arms moving up and down overhead, and quick feet.

Third = Upper Body Pyramid Work.

For these everyone had two sets of weights a bit heavier than normal.  We did the following circuit through with the lighter set first for 15 reps of each move.  Then repeated the cardio series above and did the circuit again with the heavier set for 12 reps of the move.  Finished with one last round of the same cardio series.

  • Bridge Dumbbell Chest Presses
  • Bent Over Rows
  • Side Lunges (each leg)
  • Alternating Front Bicep Curls
  • Triceps Kickbacks
  • Low Pulse Lunges

Fourth = Partner Work

Everyone paired up with someone and decided who was Partner 1 and who was Partner 2.  Partner 1 did the first move at the same time Partner 2 did the second move, then they switched.  Each move was done for between 45 seconds and 1 minute.

  • Medicine Ball Switch Pushups / Jumping Lunge Switches
  • Medicine Ball Slams / Burpees
  • Medicine Ball Side to Side Twists / Double Hips
  • Medicine Ball Lateral Hops / Plank Jacks

Fifth = A 5 Minute Ab Challenge

We finished class with one last partner move.  Partner 1 was doing situps while Partner 2 was doing an elbow plank with their fists on Partner 1’s sneakers to keep their feet in place.  I would yell “Switch!” randomly and they’d have to switch who was doing situps (full situps!) and who was doing the plank.  We did this for five minutes straight!!  I got the idea from BootcampIdeas.com.

Finally we cooled down, stretched, and called it a night.

Tuesday Night Playlist

Here’s what I used for jams!

I thought it was a fun mix, no?

Tuesday Night Eats

Dinner was a little pasta mix.

Whole wheat rotini, sauteed shrimp, zucchini, baby eggplant, mozzarella cheese, a teeny bit of crushed red pepper, and some spices.

Tuesday Night Faceplant

And that’s how I ended my night!  Well, not really because I did shower and change out of my sweaty gym clothes.  But I did do this first.  I was so exhausted!

How were your Tuesday nights?
