Hey guys, hope you all had a lovely weekend! Now that another week is underway, let’s talk fitness.
Last Week’s Workouts
Last week was a great workout week – I’m feeling good! Best Body Bootcamp (Round 5) began, as did my April Arms Challenge. I will admit, I did not follow BBB exactly. However, several of my workouts were BBB inspired and I adapted them into my teaching schedule and preferences this week.
Sunday
Rest day!
Monday
Best Body Bootcamp inspired cardio on the treadmill + April Arms Challenge (pyramid pushups) + core work
Tuesday
Felt so nice to be back to Two A Day Tuesday! Liz did a super cardio heavy Kickboxing class, and I followed that with my Interval class. I used a lot of the moves from BBB Workout C to focus on unilateral training, core stability, and balance. I also taught Tuesday’s April Arms Challenge in class. Triceps plank holds are my new favorite move! Anyone else?
Wednesday
Active rest: 30 minute walk at work for National Walking Day, and I busted out the biceps/jumping jacks for April Arms at night.
Thursday
Taught my 6am! Moves inspired by BBB Workout A for total body strength, and I threw in my April Arms Tabata moves between sets. Also did a ton of cardio work on the step (run-up Tabata and knee-up Tabata), which was SWEATY!
Friday
Only cardio. I skipped my own April Arms Challenge because my upper body was way too sore from the rest of this week’s workouts in class, and I don’t want to risk over-training/injury. I did, however, do 40 minutes on the treadmill which included a 5 minute walking warmup, then 5 minutes of incline walking, then a 25 minute run at various speeds (no set interval plan), and a 5 minute cool-down.
Saturday
Originally thought I’d do BBB Workout B, but was craving a class. Monique‘s kickboxing it was! Sweatfest.
Thanks for sending me this pic, Monique! Not our best picture, but hey, that’s the sign of a good workout right? If you look cute at the end of your workout, it should probably not be the end of it. Just saying.
Anyways, before I get into this week’s workouts, I need to share a couple of new fitness related things this week. First, my new workout bottoms from Old Navy. Colored workout pants might just be my new favorite thing.
Second, my new workout playlist. Mainly because I can’t stop listening to it.
Especially #5.
I will be using this playlist again this week, I’m sure.
This Week’s Workouts
Here’s what’s in store this week!
- Sunday: Just my 3-2-1 Sunday Circuit for April Arms
- Monday: Cardio day! Craving some elliptical tonight
- Tuesday: Two A Day – Taking Liz’s Kickboxing, then teaching my class (format TBD).
- Wednesday: Off or Active Rest
- Thursday: Teaching my class (format TBD).
- Friday: TBD
- Saturday: Kickboxing? But I’m going out Friday night, so I am being non-committal.
NOTE: I didn’t write out April Arms Challenge for each day, but I will still be participating! However, I am NOT doing April Arms Challenge exercises in the classes I teach this week. Consider this your heads up! 🙂
Let’s chat! Anyone do anything fun over the weekend? How were your workouts last week? For those participating in the April Arms Challenge, what are your thoughts so far?
that is a horrific picture of us, but i totally agree with your note about how if you look good after you workout, you shouldn’t be done! I don’t know what it was, but I was insanely sweaty on Saturday (definitely not complaining!!). I had a good weekend and am ready for this week as it’s birthday week! I had to modify yesterday’s AAC workout (yeah, I abbreviated that) yesterday, but I am loving it so far! I wish i would’ve taken a picture of my muscles before so i could see the difference (i feel one already!).

What a great playlist! I will be adding some of these songs to my monthly update workout list. I love the colored pants!

I haven’t been to a workout class in ages, but I may have to look them up when we move. I know there is such great energy from doing them!
